‘Whereas Mrs Katherine Orton the relict of Captaine Orton hath for severall yeares last past by an order of this Corte rece[ive]d of and from the Treasurer of this County for maimed soldiers a pencon of twenty pounds p[er] Ann[um] And whereas it appearing to this Corte that Woolston Roberts of Earle Shulton [Shilton] in this County gent served Kinge Charles the first of blessed memory in the then unhappy wars very faithfully and hath ever since behaved himselfe as a faithfull and Loyall subject but is now growne old and very lowe in the world. It is therefore ordered by this Corte that the treasurer for maimed soldiers for this County doe for the future pay unto the said Woolston Roberts out of said pencon of twenty pounds p[er] Ann[um] ordered to be paid unto the said Mrs Orton as aforesaid the sume of six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence yearly by Quarterly paym[en]t until this Corte shall otherwise order. And alsoe that the said Treasurer doe continue to pay unto the said Mrs Orton the remainder of the said pencon, being thirteene pounds six shillings and eight pence [er] Ann[um] by Quarterly paym[en]ts until this Corte shall otherwise order therein.’
