fol. 74v: Upon a certificate from Francis Heath Esq. and others, showing that William Wakeford of Sevenoaks was a soldier in Heath’s regiment at the siege of Colchester in 1648 ‘and was then and there wounded in defence of our said kinge and Country’ and was now poor and aged, it was ordered that Wakeford be paid a gratuity of £3 and a pension of 40 s. a year.
