Notes

William Swan of Blythburgh having been wounded in his late Majesty’s service, this court orders the treasurer for maimed soldiers in this division to pay 40 s. yearly to the churchwardens and overseers of Blythburgh towards hismaintenance.
NOTE: Swan is specifically recorded in earlier entries as a veteran of the Dutch Wars, with no mention of any earlier service in the Civil Wars. The Clerk of the Peace has either made a mistake in the earlier entries, or is mistaken here in stating that Swan received his wounds "in his late Majesty’s service" (i.e. Charles I).
