Notes

The payment was to be made out of parish charity. The context of the entry suggests that this is possibly a maimed veteran. Sanderson complained that he was previously allowed three pence per week out of parish charity, but this had been denied him since the previous Easter. He was poor and blind, and not able to maintain himself without this allowance and some additions. The Justices ordered the parish to resume the allowance, at the rate of 5d per week, and to pay him his arrears.
