[f.196] ‘Vpon the humble petition of William Parker of Buckland Filly Settinge forth that he faithfully serued his late Majestie King Charles the first in the late vnhappy warrs & hath alsoe serued his present Majestie as a Souldier in Tangeir for many yeares by meanes whereof hee (being now Sixty Eight yeares of Age) is become very impotent & altogeather vnable to gett his liuelyhood This Court doth therefore desire the Justices of the peace of that diuision or any two of them to call the officer of the said parish before them & cause them to giue the said William Parker such releife as they shall judge needfull And vpon Certivicate made thereof vnto this Court at next Sessions this Courte will grante him a yearly pencion for his more comfortable subsistance.’
