Upon application made on behalf of William Leaver the elder of Aylesbury that his £10 per annum pension might be increased because he ‘is now soe poore aged & infirme being of one hundred yeares of age or thereabouts that he is altogether unable & uncapable to help or support himself without the assistance & helpe of some person or persons to Assist him.’ His pension was raised from £10 to £12 per annum. This increase was allowed at a time when ‘the number of Pentioners of this County have encreased’.
