Notes

William Knights of Berney petitioned that he was very poor and destitute of an habitation, and unable to earn a living ‘by reason of his being lamed in the late wares’. The inhabitants of Barney refused to provide for him. The JPs ordered the Churchwardens to provide him an habitation and 6 d. per week in maintenance.
