'A bill of the charges that I am out for Richard Barker, for the time of his sickness, and for his burial, who was trooper under Captain Selby. April 16th 1644.' Items include: his diet, and fixing, and candle for three weeks after; three weeks’ diet for the woman that was continually to look to him; the woman’s wages for watching with him night and day for three weeks;
a sheet to bury him in; church duties for his burial; washing up my linen and all other things belonging to the bed; meat for his horse for a peck of oats a day, and hay for one and twenty days; seven days at nine pence a day. Record of payment
