The court was 'informed on the behalf of the Overseers of the poore of Stratford upon Avon in this County, That Mary Edwards & Katherine Edwards two poore children of one William Edwards (who travelleth upp & downe the Country as a Laborer) are very chargeable to the Inh[ab]itants of Stratford upon Avon aforesaid. And that the said William Edwards hath an yearly pencon of Thirty shillings allowed him by this Court for his Service in his late Ma[jes]tys Warrs under whome he served as a soldyer, of which said yearely stipend there are severall yeares in Arreare & unpaid to the said William Edwards'. The Stratford Overseers therefore requested that the arrears and the yearly pension going forwards be paid to them 'towards the maintenance, releife & breeding up of the said two children'. Ordered that their request be granted.
