‘Forasmuch as William Burrall the elder of Winslow in this County Butcher hath Exh[ib]ited this Petic[i]on to this Court this present sessions setting forth that he was Engaged in the late unhappy Civill Warrs & was a souldier under Generall Monk & came under his Com[m]and at the Restorac[i]on of the late King Charles the Second from Scotland into England, & received severall wounds in the said service. And had received from the said general a Discharge & Liberty to exercise any trade And hath lived in good repute & well Educated his family but is now grown aged & reduced to want And humbly desired a Penc[i]on from this Court out of the County stock But did not p[ro]duce to this Court any Certificate thereof under the hands & seales of the field Officers of the Regiment wherein hee served or one of them As by the statute is required Yet this Court being satisfyed of his necessityes & willing to admitt him to some Bounty out of the County stock.’
The court ordered the Treasurer to pay Burrall 20 s as well as 2 s. 6 d. to pay the Clerk of the Peace for a copy of this order. Record of payment
