‘For asmuch as William Botterill of Shaulston in this County hath exhibited his Petic[i]on to this Co[u]rt setting forth his service to his late Ma[jes]tye King Charles the first & the many wounds rec[eive]d in the said service & his great age & inability to help himself. This Court takeing into Consid[er]ac[i]on his deplorable Condic[i]on hath thought fit to increase his present penc[i]on...’ from £2 to £4 ‘in such manner as the present Penc[i]ons of this County have bene usually paid.’
