Warrant notes that William Johnson, a trooper under Captain Clarke, was owed arrears when he was wounded at the siege of Banbury. He died of his wounds on 15 November 1644. Ordered that his arrears be paid to the churchwardens and overseers of Faxton for the use of Johnson’s widow. Order addressed to ‘the sequestrators added for our assistance’. Warrant signed by Rol: St John [Sir Rowland St John KB], Robert [?Mildemay], Edward Harby and Thomas Pentlow. Receipt of payment acknowledged by the autograph signature of William Ponder.
