'Upon the presentment of a list under the hand of Sir John Strode knight unto this court of such indigent souldiers within the division of Bridport who continued loyall to his late majestie in the late wars and never diserted the sayd service; It is therefore ordered … that the Treasurer for the westerne parte of this county doe pay unto each of them & who are in a list hereunto annexed the summe of twenty shillings for their present necessity and reliefe.' Her husband was slain at Lyme Regis.
