‘Whereas Walter Jewell of Cullompton is allowed a pention of thirty shillings per annum as a maymed souldier and being now growne very infirme by reason of his wounds received in the service of our late Soueraigne Lord Kinge Charles the first It is ordered that hee shall have ten shillings per annum added to his said former pencion in all forty shillings per annum to bee paid vnto him by the Treasurer for the maymed souldiers of this County by quarterly payments till further order And the first payment is to be made this present Sessions.’
