Notes

The pension was taken from a sum previously granted to Richard Satchell of Winterborne Whitechurch, lately deceased, which was also shared with John Pittney of Blandford Forum. It was granted 'upon sufficient certificate unto this court that Walter Exton of Handly in the said county hath received divers wounds in his body in the service of the late King Charles the first & is very much disabled in his body impoverished and ruined in his estate'. If Pittney died before Exten, then Exten would also receive Pittney's share, and vice versa.
