"Nowe for that it appeareth unto this Court that John Macy and Sampson Pascoe both of Ottery St Mary served his late Majestie and one died and the other suffered death in and for the said service, And that Thomazin Macy & Susan Pascoe their relicts are in great distress, And in a very sad Condicion, This Court doth therefore in a very speciall manner recommend the sad condition of the said Thomazine and Susan unto the officers of Ottery St Mary aforesaid, who are hereby required to take the same into their consideracions and relieve them according to the said Statute."
