Notes

Described as 'an ancient souldyer and one whoe form[e]rly had a pension but lately taken from him' [possibly not a Civil War veteran?]. At the last sessions held at Epiphany, Stocke's pension of 12 d. had been decreased back down again to 6 d. due to information against him from the Hatton Overseers of the Poor. However, the court was now informed that Stocke was 'not able to maintaine himselfe & family with that Allowance' and so his pension from the parish of Hatton was again increased to 12 d. per week.
