Notes
-
Whereas at the last sessions held at Michaelmas, the weekly pension from Hatton parish given to Stocke, 'an old pensioner' [possibly not a Civil War veteran], had been increased from 6 d. to 12 d. However, the Hatton Overseers of the Poor complained that Stocke was 'a man of Lewd behavio[u]r given up to drunkennes[s] disorder & abuse of neighbours and although hee is able to worke yet does not follow any honest Labo[u]r'. Therefore, his weekly pension was decreased to 6 d. again.
