"Whereas Thomas Pearce of St Davies a maymed souldier who hath forty shillings yearly for his maintenance allowed him being very poore in misery & distres by reason of ye severall wounds he received in the service of the State which 40 s. is noe way able to relieve him, It is therefore ordered that… [he] shall from henceforth receive forty shillings more to be added unto the former 40 s. which the Treasurer … is to pay towards his better livelihood & maintenance till farther order."
