Notes

Newson had previously been allowed a yearly pension of 50 s. because of wounds received in royalist service which had rendered him indigent. This had been suspended, and reduced to four nobles per annum. However, 'now in regard of his age he is utterly unable to subsist and maintain his family'. The case was referred to William Buckley, Sergeant-at-Law, and John Willoughby and Richard Raynsford Esqs, or any two of them, for further consideration.
