‘For good cause shewed unto this Court, It is ordered that Thomas Marshall of Thorverton formerly allowed a pencion as a maymed souldier shall have his pencion taken off, but for that it appeareth hee is a very poore man, This Court doth therefore desire Sir Henry Carew knight, Francis Drew & Samuel St Hill Esquires or one of them to cause the officers of Thorverton to give him such releiffe as his necessities require.’
