This court is satisfied of his good and faithful service to his late Majesty Charles the First of ever blessed memory, as a lieutenant of a foot company of soldiers under the command of Colonel Thomas Blake [Blague], during which service he received several wounds, and was thereby much impoverished. (A Thomas Loudell of Suffolk is listed as a lieutenant in Captain Thomas Bayly’s company of Thomas Blague’s regiment of foot in Column 13 of the List of indigent officers published in 1663.)
