Upon the petition of Thomas Cranke of Chepping Wycomb [High Wycombe], labourer which was subscribed by the Mayor, Recorder, and Court of Alderman of the said borough to the effect that he served his late Majesty King Charles the First in the 'Warrs against the then Rebells in England and Scotland, and that he was imprest so to do by the Constables of West Wycomb', the Treasurer for the Maimed Soldiers in the Upper Division of the county was ordered to pay him 40 s. 'for his present support and relief… and also 2s. 6d. for his charges in obteyning this Order'.
