Notes

Bridgman had been a soldier in his Majesty’s service, and received divers wounds in his body, which disabled him (together with age) to work for his living. The Justices noted that he was already in receipt of a pension of 40 s. per annum, but that this was insufficient for him to maintain himself. They therefore ordered that his pension be augmented by a further 20 s. per annum.
