Notes

Bradley received a pension of £4 per annum from Horncastle, and 40s per annum from Louth, to be paid quarterly. He had faithfully served his late Majesty of ever-blessed memory during the time of the late rebellion as a lieutenant of horse. He had received divers hurts in this service, and, his estate having been sequestered, he had been forced to compound at so great a rate that he was wholly ruined. He was imprisoned on numerous occasions for his loyalty, and had lately served in Charles II’s war against the Dutch [Second Dutch War, 1665-67]. [Column 14 of the 1663 List includes a Lieutenant Thomas Bradley of Lincolnshire, who served in the troop of Lt-Col Sir Charles Bolles, in Colonel Sir Peregrine Bertie’s regiment of horse.]
