Item 74 in the rolls: He made a confession on 24 April 1654 that 'he hath bin a souldyer under the late Kinge, & was at Worcester taken prisoner, & havinge there lost one Arme, & shott in the other shoulder besides many other woundes'. He had married Ann Dodson at St George's Church in 'Southerike' and they intended to settle in Cornwall, but had procured counterfeit travel passes.
