Fols 39-40: Several widows of those who had faithfully served Charles I petitioned the court for pensions. However, all or most of them were residing in the City of Westminster and so the court could not legally grant them relief. Therefore, the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor for the widows’ respective parishes were to be sent for in order that they should allow the widows a yearly pension out of the monies raised in their parishes. It was further ordered that the same procedure be followed with any other widows from the City of Westminster who petitioned the court for relief. This order was to be printed and delivered to the sheriffs of the county to be set up on posts and boards in the markets, streets and other public spaces in the county.
