Thomas Smith has petitioned on behalf of the two children of parliamentarian soldier, Thomas Woodward who served under Colonel ?Lantheal, and his wife Anne Lister. Both parents were dead by 1648 and the court gave an order that Acton parish should support the children until order be taken for their maintenance according to the ordinance made for orphans of dead soldiers.
