‘Whereas Sir Will[ia]m Mason Kn[igh]t: late of Slol[e]y in this County did very good service for our late Soveraigne Lord Kinge Charles the first of ever blessed memory in the late warrs & hath beene a greate sufferer thereby both in his Lib[er]ty & Estate by reason whereof he is now reduced to some Exigences. This Co[u]rt: as an Evidence of theire Respects to the said Sir Will[ia]m and of his said service doth now Order yt: Rob[er]t Suckline Esq[ui]r[e] one of the Treasurers for the maimed souldiours doth upon sight hereof pay unto the said Sir Will[ia]m Mason Tenn pounds towards a supply of his pr[e]sent Occasions.’
