ff.78, 79 & 84: Captain Humfrey Fownes, captain of foot companies in the regiments of Colonel Sir William Constable and Colonel Richard Fortescue, was owed £468 for his service from 30 July 1642 to 15 April 1644, being 624 days at 15 s. per day, and £117 15 s. from 15 April 1644 to 19 September 1644, being 156 days at 15 s. per day, of which he received £287 5 s. and from which £68 12 s. 6 d. is respited, leaving £249 17 s. 6 d. still owing. His wife, Sarah's petition is referred to the Committee of Accounts for the Kingdom. She acknowledges receipt of £4 on 16 June 1645, 40 s. on 20 August 1645 and £6 on 2 December 1645.
