At the Michaelmas 1652 sessions, a yearly pension of 40 s. had been granted to Roger Curtis of Wroxall who was wounded in the leg in Parliament's service. Curtis had recently died and his mother Sarah had since 'fallen into great want & pov[er]ty & hath many children to p[ro]vide for & maintaine'. It was therefore ordered that the pension be transferred to her.
