Warrant for payment to West, a trooper under Captain Clerke. West was ‘long imprisoned in the West’, having been taken when ‘our troops were there in the State’s service’ in July 1644. Ordered that the half pay due to him at the time he was taken prisoner to be paid. Order addressed to ‘the sequestrators added for our assistance.’ Warrant signed by Edward Farmar, Rol: St John [Sir Rowland St John KB] and Thomas Pentlow. Receipt of payment acknowledged 30 May 1645 by the mark of West.
