"Forasmuch as it appeareth unto this court that Thomas Clare was a souldier in the tyme of the late warrs under the command of Captain Braddon of the Plymouth Regiment of horse and that he was slayne at Dorchester in pursuit of the late Kings party he being then in the said service. It is therefore ordered that Ruth Clare his widdow who hath two small children & is likely to perishe for want shall receive 20 s. from the Treasurer of the maymed souldiers."
