"Whereas it appeareth … that Robert Richardson of Honiton was wounded in the service of the Common Wealth under the command of Captain Margery by a shott with a brace of bulletts which he received from the enemy in his Arme whereby he hath utterly lost the use of his said Arme, And having a wife and six small children are noe way able to relieve them but are likely to perishe. It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe forthwith pay unto the said Robert the summe of 40 s., And upon his procuring a certificate from a Commisionate officer that he was wounded as aforesaid, he is to be farther considered."
