Upon the petition of Robert Powter of Little Ouseburn setting forth that he was a soldier in his Majesty’s service for several years and had received several wounds, including having his hand nearly cut off at one skirmish, and is now in great want, it was ordered that he be admitted pensioner in the first vacancy in the wapentake of Claroe. His petitions was attested to ‘by p[er]sons of quallytye’.
