fol. 41: ‘Whereas George Russell hath informed this Co[u]rt that Robert Forreigne who now receives a penc[i]on of Three pounds a yeare frome this County as a Maymed Souldier, hath a Penc[i]on out of the Chest at Chatham and in other Countyes, and that he is a Papist & not in a capasity to be a Penc[i]oner of this County It is Therefore thought fitt & ordered by this Co[u]rt that Mr Hampton the pr[e]sent Treasurer doe forbeare payment of the next Christmas Quarter to the said Robert Forreigne And it is further ordered that vpon notice hereof the said Robert Forreigne shold shew cause the First day of the next Quarter Sessionswhy he shold haue his penc[i]on aforesaid continued.’
