‘Upon reading the petic[i]on of Robert Anderton of Stonny Stratford in this County therein setting forth that he had served his Late Sacred Maj[es]tie King Charles the first in the Late Civill Warrs that thereby he had beene a great sufferer & much wounded & disabled that in considerac[i]on of such this service he had a Pension of 40 s. p[er] ann[um] p[ai]d him out of the County stock that he is now above Eighty yeares of age & uncapable to help himselfe & therefore prayed an Augmentac[i]on to his penc[i]on Whereupon this Court takeing the said Petic[i]on into Considerac[i]on and alsoe the Lowness of the County stock, which of Late has beene greately exhausted doe find and are of Opinion & that they cannot att this tyme add to or Augment the said Penc[i]on or Comply with or give the Petic[i]on[e]r any further releife And for that reason this Court doth Order that the said petic[i]on be rejected att this tyme.’
