Odlinge had given faithful service as a soldier in his late Majesty’s service, during which he had received many hurts and wounds in his body. [Richard Odling of Lincolnshire is recorded as a claimant in the 1663 List (column 14), having served as quartermaster to Lt-Col Sir Charles Bolles’ troop, in the cavalry regiment of Sir Peregrine Bertie.] The pension payments were to begin after the death of the next existing pensioner.
