fol. 62: Richard Hunt of East Malling, labourer, petitioned the court that he served in arms with a musket in Kent in 1648 under Colonel Culpepper and at the siege of Colchester, where he was wounded and ever since disabled from maintaining his wife and children. It was ordered that Hunt receive a gratuity of 20 s.
