'It appeareinge to this Court by a Certificate under the hand of Leiuetennant Henry Dudley yt Richard Chettle of Ashby de la Zouch in this county husbandman did serve his late Ma[jes]tie as a souldier in the later Civill warrs under the command of the right hon[oura]ble the Lord of Loughborow in his Lordshipps owne troope and yt he did behave himselfe Couragiously & faithfully and was very much wounded by reason whereof togeather with his sufferings for his Loyalty he is very disabled and become very poore. It alsoe Appeareinge to this Court that one [blank] Eaglefield late of the parish of Ashby de la Zouch aforesaid (who had a pencon of forty shillings is dead). It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer of this County of Leic[este]r for penconers and maimed soldiers doe for the future pay the said pencon of Forty shillings unto the said Richard Cheatle'.
