‘Whereas Richard Baker of the Citty of Norw[i]ch moved this Court for a yearely pension to be allowed unto him and shewed that he lately went of the Cittie of Norw[i]ch as a voluntary soldier & was imployed in service under Colonell Inglesby in Oxforde & received some wounds whereby he is utterly disabled to worke for his lively hood. This Court conceive it very fittinge that he sho[u]ld have a pension but in regard he went out of the Citty of Norw[i]ch a soldier as afores[ai]d doe desire Mr Maior & the Justices of the said Citty to com[m]isserate this peticon[er]s estate & grant him a pension.’
