[f.117] ‘Whereas by an order of this Court made in Easter Sessions in the second yeare of his now Majesties raigne this Court in Consideracion of the eminent loyalty & greate Sufferings of Richard Arscott of Sampford Courtney in this County Gentleman in his late Majesties service did order that Gilbert Richard the then gouernour of the workehowse of this county should out of the procedure of Two hundred pounds and other Stocke of a considerable value belonging to this County deposited in his hands and custody pay vnto the said Mr Arscott Tenn pounds per annum by quarterly payments vntill further order And forasmuch as since that time the said Gilbert Richards is dead and Gilbert Richards his sonn is now gouernour of the said workhowse in his roome This Court doth order the said present Gouernour of the workehowse aforesaid to continue the payment of the said Summe of Tenn pounds per annum by quarterly payments vnto the said Richard Arscott vntill further order.’
