Fol. 24: At the General Quarter Sessions held on 7 October 1669, Peter Clay of Gravell Lane in the parish of St Botolph’s Aldgate was admitted to a pension of 30 s. as a maimed soldier but ‘vpon strict inquiry, and examinac[i]on taken’ the court was satisfied that the pension was too small for him in respect of his wounds and great age. He was awarded a further 20 s. a year.
