Notes

Thomas Hawkesford had a yearly pension of 50 s. granted as a result of his 'hurts and mayhems received in the Parliament's service' but had recently died three weeks before his quarterly pension payment was due. HIs father-in-law, Thomas Burne, petitioned that the same pension might be continued to Hawkesford's child. The court did not want to set a precedent here, 'the money being p[ro]perly payable to souldiers and theire widdowes' but a gratuity was paid to Burne for the keeping of the child.
