"Whereas it appeareth by sufficient testimony yt Matthew Smyth of Plymouth served the Common Wealth faithfully in the garrison of Plymouth during the seidge there in actuall service against the enemy; by miscarriage of a peece of ordinance had his legg broken and extreemely brused his body soe that he is thereby disinabled to gett his living. It is therefore ordered that [the] Treasurer … doe pay him 50 s. yearly from Midsomer sessions last, And in case of any new complaint he is to be farther considered."
