When Thomas Litchett left Bramshaw to serve in Ireland, he left a cottage belonging to the parish for the use of the poor as maintenance for his child. However, the cottage has since been taken over by one Henry Goddard., leaving the child with no maintenance The case was referred to JPs to examine.
