fol. 76v: Upon the petition (which was certified to the court to be true) of John Wayman of Wouldham, showing that Wayman was head sergeant in the company of Colonel Sir John Money at the battle of Maidstone in 1648, where he received many dangerous wounds, whereby he was put to great charges for the cure thereof to his great impoverishment, it was ordered that Wayman be paid a gratuity of 30 s. and a pension of 40 s. a year.
