‘John Wall of Shapwick in this Countie having beene a faithfull soldier in the late warrs for King Charles the first of ever blessed memory & was wounded & is very poore, is now admitted a pencioner of this Countie in the roome of John Moses late of Shapwick aforesaid, & the said John Wall is to receive a yearely pencion of fortie shillings per annum.’
