‘Whereas John Tanner of Axmister formerly allowed a pencion of 40 s. [sic] per annum as a maymed souldier hath lately received more woundes in his Majesties service att sea against the dutch It is therefore ordered that hee have 20 s. a yeare added to his former pencion in all Three pounds per annum to be paid vnto him by the Treasurer for the maymed souldiers of this County by quarterly payments till further order And Five shillings in hand.’
