"Forasmuch as a pencion of five pounds was heretofore allowed to Mr John Sharpe as a maymed souldier: which by reason of his absence in the Cariba Islands hath beene unpaid & now he is returned and in great necessity, It is ordered that the Treasurer … shall pay unto the said Mr Sharpe The summe of fifty shillings for his present maynetenance, And for the time to come he is to receave a pencion of five pounds yearely dureing his Life."
